| | | | | by Assoc posted 01/21/2010 Mid Fairfield Alumni Ryan Haggerty, Michael Paliotta and Jonathan Quick are featured in the current issue of CT Hockey News to mark their roles in representing Team USA. Haggerty and Paliotta are on the U-17 National Development Team and Quick is on the 2010 Olympic team. Both Paliotta and Haggerty were also the subject of recent USA Hockey Magazine articles. Congratulations and best of luck to these young men and all of Team USA!
Michael Paliotta started out in youth hockey at Darien, and later played for Mid-Fairfield. A Team Connecticut player for many years, Paliotta also later attended and played hockey for Choate Rosemary Hall School for two years before joining the National Team Development Program Under-17 team this fall.

posted 01/08/2010 The AYHL is focusing on strict zero-tolerance enforcement of USA Hockey rules regarding head contact. Ultimately this is not about the assessment of the penalty to the player; it is about educating players thus preventing serious concussion injuries. Mid Fairfield is fully supportive of this initiative.
Please click here to read an important memo from the AYHL Referee-in-Chief and watch a short 4-minute video about head contact.

| | | | by Assoc posted 01/04/2010 The headlines remind us daily that we are in challenging economic times. Hidden behind those headlines are stories of people in our local community who are truly in need of assistance. In the spirit of giving and caring for others, the Mid Fairfield Bantam Major Team decided to make a difference this holiday season by contributing the gift of their time to help those less fortunate.
The Bantam Majors sponsored a community service event on December 29, 2009 by preparing and serving dinner for the residents of St. Luke's Lifeworks. Then, while one of the players played background dinner music, other players sat down and socialized with the residents. St. Luke's Lifeworks is a not for profit organization in Stamford, Connecticut that provides housing and support services as well as learning opportunities to people overcoming homelessness, people living with AIDS and HIV, and people recovering from mental illness. The residents of St. Luke's and our Bantam Major Team truly had a wonderful evening together.
